What Off-Island does
Off-Island is a journey planner. You choose an island, a travel date and a destination, and it builds links that open your search on the operators' own websites — Skyscanner, Trainline, DFDS, Condor, LibertyBus, buses.gg, Booking.com and Kayak.
Everything you type stays in your browser. Your dates and destination are used to build those links and then forgotten when you close the tab. There is no account, no login, and no database of journeys.
What we don't collect
- No names, addresses or dates of birth
- No payment details — Off-Island never takes a payment
- No location tracking
- No profiles built about you, and nothing sold or shared with data brokers
Cookies
Off-Island sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own.
If we switch on visitor measurement (simply counting how many people use the site, so we know whether it's worth running), you'll see a notice asking first, and nothing loads unless you agree. Your answer is remembered in your browser so you're not asked repeatedly. You can change your mind by clearing your browser's site data for this site.
When you tap through to an operator, that company sets its own cookies under its own policy — exactly as if you'd typed their address yourself. Those are covered by their privacy notices, not this one.
Affiliate links
Some links may earn Off-Island a small commission if you go on to book. It never costs you more, and it never affects what the site shows you: results and prices come from the operators, and Off-Island doesn't reorder or hide options based on commission.
If you contact us
If you send an advertising or general enquiry through the contact form, we receive the details you type — your name, business, email and message — and use them only to reply. Form submissions are handled by our hosting provider, Netlify. We don't add you to a mailing list, and you can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs (including IP addresses) for security and reliability, as any web host does. We don't use those logs to identify individuals.
Your rights
Under Jersey, Guernsey and UK data protection law you have the right to ask what personal data an organisation holds about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. In practice, unless you've sent us an enquiry, Off-Island holds nothing about you at all. If you'd like to ask about anything here, get in touch through the contact page.
Changes
If this notice changes — for example when visitor measurement or affiliate partnerships go live — we'll update this page and the date below.
